Last night was the annual Poinsettia Ball, the big dinner/dancing event in Ellsworth. Of course, we had to go — this is Chris’s only occasion to wear his tuxedo, and darn it, and he’s going to wear it. As always, they do an incredible transformation of tennis courts into a ballroom. People enjoyed seeing the eight-and-a-half-month pregnant woman teetering around on her high heels. I was starting to feel like the sideshow, so I considered spilling my glass of water on the ground and faking labor pains, but figured that *I* would be the only one amused by that little joke.
The fun thing about the ball this year was that we’ve had a nice coating of snow this weekend. It’s pretty and festive!

Don’t you love the color of Jane’s Adirondack charis?!
We figured this would be the perfect weekend to get our Christmas tree and start decorating. (We don’t want to run out of time due to Baby’s arrival, after all.) So we asked if we could borrow Kermit’s pick-up truck…that’s always an adventure in and of itself…. Here’s Chris starting ‘er up:
Other fun news: we’re going to have visitors this Christmas! Chris’s sisters Amy and Caroline are both going to be in town between Christmas and New Years, so I better get crackin’ on poppin’ this kid out, else they’ll be displeased with me. We’ve had suggestions to eat Mexican food or Chinese. My stomach is reaching a new level of stretchedness — I hope she comes soon! Here’s a picture of our refrigerator with our chart that helps us keep track of the official countdown:

ONLY TWO WEEKS TO GO! We have our next doctor’s appointment on Wednesday — we’ll see what the baby progress is at that time. They expect us to be on time-ish, but you just never know.
